In a continuation of the last few years' tradition to produce new and thematic programmes, the youth choir "Kamēr..." invites you to concert Moon Songs that will be held on 25th and 26th of February, 5 pm in the Great Hall of the University of Latvia, Riga. In its first part the choir together with chamber orchestra "Sinfonietta Rīga" and soloists Armands Siliņš and Jānis Kurševs will participate in the Latvian premiere of Carl Orff's Der Mond (The Moon) conducted by Māris Sirmais, while the second part will consist of 10 freshly composed pieces by Latvian composers on the theme of Moon.

The artistic director of the concert is Māris Sirmais, director - Juris Pakalniņš, costume designer - Elita Patmalniece, artist - Ilmārs Blumbergs.

In December 2011 youth choir "Kamēr..." and its conductor and artistic director Māris Sirmais published a new CD under the title "O Salutaris" that contains both previously recorded and freshly taped choral music exclusively by Ēriks Ešenvalds.

The premiere concert was held on 9th of December in Riga Luther church (Torņkalna church) at 18:30, with composer Ēriks Ešenvalds and soloists from "The Christmas Legend" - Renārs Kaupers, Jānis Apeinis and Valdis Muktupāvels - present at the event.

The next performance of the choir is a concert on 8th December for Latvian conductors of children and youth choirs. However, the main event of this year's end is the presentation of the new CD on 9th December (see here).
